Although we enjoy our down time in the winter when the days start to get longer we long to be back on the north coast. This year brought some of the nicest May weather on record and our trip north was as spectacular as it could be. Always trying new spots we picked a few anchorages we had not used and were once again rewarded with some spectacular scenery. Anxious to dust off the fishing rods our first drops of the jig put some nice ling cod in the boat, not to mention a 50 lb halibut caught from the skiff on a light rod, what a fight. Warm evenings, great sunsets and calm waters accompanied us throughout the 10 day trip north. Arriving Prince Rupert on May 22nd it felt good to be home for the summer!!
