British Columbia is one of 10 Provinces that make up Canada. This province is located in the west bordered by the Pacific Ocean. The wilderness coast line teams with marine mammals, sea birds and towering snow capped peaks. Did I forget to mention that BC is also home to some of the best salmon and halibut fishing in the world. Because of this, it’s a prime location to operate a fishing charter from. The coast of BC is truly one of the last pristine wildernesses left in the world.
Our British Columbia fishing charters take place on the salmon rich waters of Northern British Columbia in the town of Prince Rupert. Prince Rupert itself is a town of small population. Only 12 000 people call the town home. Although a small town it is serviced by a major airline, Air Canada, three times a day. Connections our of Vancouver make it an easy destination to get to from anywhere in the world. When fishing season comes around, the population gets much larger. You can bet a once in a lifetime opportunity awaits you to see one of the last pristine wilderness areas in the world. Salmon & Halibut Fishing
Our charters are very different from any other charter. What makes us different? Our boat. The Thunder 1, is a live-aboard boat which means you fish, sleep and eat on the boat. You will not get this experience anywhere else as you have a lodge to start and end the day from. Not with us though. You get to live on the boat for the duration of the charter. Join our hosts for amazing fishing and board your own private yacht for the fishing experience of a lifetime.
Our British Columbia Fishing Charters normally span four to five days. We find this the perfect amount of time to catch some fish and to see the areas beautiful wildlife. Doug and Deb Emery are your hosts and have journeyed up and down the coast of British Columbia for years. They have plenty of knowledge and experience on the best techniques and where the fish are biting.
Your Boat
Accommodation for your crewed charter is aboard Thunder 1, a classic 52′ Wahl Trawler. Wahl boats were a mainstay of the BC West Coast fishing fleet for many years and the Thunder 1 is a fine example of a west coast heritage vessel. It’s a great way to experience a the beautiful west coast of Canada.
This boat was built from scratch as a pleasure boat; she is fully equipped with the latest in modern electronics and safety equipment along with all the comforts of home. Safety First
Your vessel and crew are Coast Guard Certified. Each year the Thunder 1 undergoes a rigorous safety inspection. She provides a safe, comfortable journey whether our boating travels take us salmon fishing, whale watching or eco-touring.
