Fishing Charter and Touring Vessel, Thunder 1 - Prince Rupert, BC, CanadaThe M.V. Thunder 1 is a 52′ Wahl built aft cabin trawler. She is built to commercial standards and is well suited for extended cruising and fishing trips. . The “Thunder 1” is a fine example of our west coast heritage and was recognized in the new publication “Legacy in Wood” , The Wahl family Boat Builders by Ryan Wahl, a detailed portrait of master boat builder Ed Wahl and the important role his family business played in the creation of British Columbia’s fishing industry.

She comes fully equipped with the latest in electronics and safety equipment, hot air furnaces for your comfort and a cruising speed of 8 knots with a range of 2000 miles.

The Thunder 1 is inspected and certified by Transport Canada every year.

Doug Emery

As your Skipper, Doug has forty years of sport fishing experience on the West Coast of British Columbia. As well as his boating background he has accumulated thousands of hours as an airline Captain, including several years flying float planes up and down the BC coast. He holds a limited Masters Ticket, Small vessel Safety and Advanced Marine First Aid certificates. He looks forward to being your guide and host during your West Coast fishing adventures on the Thunder 1.

Deb Emery

Deb shares her husband’s passion for fishing and boating. She has also grown up fishing on the West Coast and is at home on the water. She holds Advanced Marine First Aid, Power Squadron, and Coastal Navigation certificates. She is a wonderful chef, specializing in seafood cuisine and looks forward to making your vacation a memorable one.
